Hello
I tried to install on Ubuntu 11.10 and Cycas unfortunately does not work Undecided
Should we install some library? Some of you tried it?

I am running it on 11.10 without a problem. I installed it years ago so I don't remember what additional libraries I needed to install, I seem to remember that there are some

I think it was mostly the ia32 compatibility libraries.

looking at the thread I was pointing you at, it looks like you were the person posting that solution.

what is the problem you are running in to?

are you able to get the package installed, but not running? or are you having problems doing the installation?

Ubuntu 10.10 in the office using 32-bit works fine (I tried 64bit but it gave me some problems with other programs)
At home I'm trying Ubuntu 11.10, 32-bit to keep up Wink , Cycas, but unfortunately does not work Embarrassed

In ufficio uso Ubuntu 10.10 32 bit che funziona benissimo (avevo provato 64bit ma mi dava qualche problemino con altri programmi)
A casa sto provando Ubuntu 11.10, 32 bit per non restare indietro  Wink, ma Cycas purtroppo non funziona  Embarrassed

No problem in the installation, you create the icon of Cycas. The problem is that it does not start, only the first start is run, that's it. I tried reinstalling but nothing.

Nessun problema nell'installazione, viene creata anche l'icona di Cycas. Il problema è che non si avvia, solo al primo avvio è funzionato, poi basta. Ho provato anche a reinstallare ma niente.

open a terminal window and run the command cycas39 and let us know what happens this should start up cycas and if it starts everything should work.

I reinstalled ubuntu and it seems that now cycads works!  Grin
We'll let you know in a few days if everything is ok.

Using KDE 4 I had that problem with Povray because of the special effects. Disconnecting them all ran perfectly.

In fact, installing gnome shell seems to work.
However I do not like Ubuntu 11.10, with the rest of the time 10.10.
