Hi,
I´ve made my first drawing, but cannot print it. I´m using Ubuntu 7.04 to a Brother MFC-620cn printer that operates without problem under Linux, until now.
I have checked the user guide and confirm that I have Ghostscript and CUPS installed.
I am very new to Linux, and even newer to CAD, but having fun learning.
Any help please?
Cheers

Thanks for the response.

I have tried using the "Default", "Custom" and "MFC620CN" options under "Print Setup" - the program can clearly see that the MFC620CN printer is connected; but I get the same response whichever print option I choose.

When I select "Print" the mouse cursor changes to a "selection tool" that I can position over the drawing to select which part to print.

I then get an "Option Request" dialog box asking Output Method "To Printer"; "To File" or "Cancel".

I can print to file, which saves as a .ps file on my desktop, but when I select "To Printer" nothing happens at the printer.  Opening the print spooler shows that the job arrived, but the Job State reads "Stopped: job-stopped".

I can´t print the .ps file from the desktop either.  It opens in my document viewer program OK and I can see the drawing there just fine - so I think the problem lies with my printer setup, but everything else I try to print is just fine.

Thanks for your time.

edit:  I just tried printing a different .ps file (the CUPS testprint.ps file and it works fine)

Is difficult to say, but seems that there´s something wrong in the printer installation, as you cannot even print ps files, with which programs do you get prints?
Have you tried to disinstall the printer and reinstall it, it happens that sometimes cups gets mad for ununderstanding reasons, the only way is to rebuild the printers list.
Another thing, do you use the right ppd for the printer? take a look at

Your problem may be related to postscript header incompatibilties that only occur on some Linux distributions. We are currently updating those headers for the upcoming release.
