Hello

I´m quite new to cycas and have some questions.
I have cycas 3.90.4 running on an OpenSUSE 11 virtual machine but I´m actually drawing on a Win XP client using Cygwin X Server.

Is it possible to save all settings
- line type , colour
- active and visible layers
- layer names, order
- printer settings
- scale
- etc.
together in one preferences set and load it in different drawings?

Is it possible to add more pens?

Is it possible to set and save a scale for one layer different from all other layers?

Is it possible to rename layers in one drawing and load these settings in another drawing?

Is it possible to display under the properties of an object (right click) the name of a layer instead of the number?

Is it possible to resize the layers window and make this setting permanent?

Is it possible to to make the selection properties permanent? For example, I prefer to select an area instead of single elements when deleting or moving objects.

Is it possible to change the order of objects in one layer. e.g. bring to front or send to back?

Thanks, Jochen

here´s a start:

in project  > settings you can change
    pen colours
    pen thickness
    line types
    units
    file paths
    bacground colour
    and other stuff
all can be saved as a .prefs file which can then be loaded at a later date

it sounds like you need to set up a cyc file to use as a template, with a customised layer structure, etc

i don´t think printer settings can be saved

only 8 pens in cycas 3.9

and i think the answer to most of your other questions is no, but they should be submitted to the wish list!

Thanks Steve!

The template has the disadvantage, that it is just a point in time. No changes to the template will ever appear in my existing plans. My idea is more of a dynamic kind.

I´ll post my wish list to feature requests.

Regards, Jochen
