Hello, serviteur.
Once I had that problem and I converted the dxf file into a new dxf file with an external conversor: EveryDWG or A9Converter. Remember, dxf to dxf and no problem.

Anybody had trouble with DXF export being flaky? I exported a drawing for an engineer to work with and they said they were having trouble getting the text to show up the right size. Not uncommon.
I tried to export it again and couldn't get the text elements to show up AT ALL! Not only that, Cycas exported elements that had supposedly been deleted from the database. They certainly weren't visible in Cycas. But there they were in the export!
Ideas, folks?

Yes, for the first issue quite every time texts has to be scaled, depends much from the destination environment, but I've never been hanged from this. If the problem is related to the quote text maybe they have to look at that configuration in their software, surely they are aware, but much of my colleagues are not so smart as they suppose to be, and they use cad only god knows how and why.. In some sw sometimes an explode also helps, but some tries has to be done, anyway I've never had stright export->import, something has always to be changed...but cycas export is not so bad seen other ones...
for the second issue sorry, never tasted, as you tell seems there's something related to the base cycas file, I've had problems with files originated in previous versions but they were related with the z of some elements, can it be the same kind of problem?... ciao luca

No I don't think so, Luca. One of the elements was a reference (GL) circle I had put in and then later deleted using -GL. The other line was a simple 2D line. Actually, it was a fragment of a line, which is even stranger.
As for the other, as I said: text objects being the wrong scale is not uncommon. I later got an email from the engineer saying she had figured out how to get it to scale properly, which was a relief as I can't figure out why Cycas suddenly can't produce a good DXF of a file it had just produced one from. Frustrating.

Hi, I've been taken the problem seriously but I didd'nt succeded in replicating the problem, but if it was so obvious should have come out before. As a result of all the thoughts I would share some behaviors I unconsciously adopt that came from my acad background that maybe can help, maybe not... First of all, as it didd'nt work out of acad in past, I never export the whole drawing but always a selection of objects, and in 2d case 2d entities only, I've really made the first tests of exporting a whole drawing this time, I never never do it from ever. Then I always work in meters and export/import in meters, combining different units is annoying and can produce strange effects, in old times there also had been problem with word length so from a certain time on I've standardized on that. In cycas we have the general drawing scale factor that is strictly related with text height, it's not uncommon that importing some dxfs I've to get tries for the right scale, especially with cartographic dxfs, I think it is also true on the reverse. I don’t know if this experience can help but anything is good when nothing is going right (yeah I know... in english please...so guys... you've got it :-) ciao luca

To be clear: I wasn't exporting an entire drawing either. Just the "visible objects", as Cycas puts it. I reality it was a stripped down site plan with boundary lines and monuments with some general architectural details. Maybe 6 layers out of a 4.6 megabyte file of nearly a 100 layers.
